Welcome, my name is An.
When I was younger I took on the adventure and left Europe to live in Latin-America. I lived in Nicaragua, Ecuador and Guatemala.
Aside from the cultural enrichment of living there, I was inspired to create my own jewellery. I learned a lot about the crystals and the energetic values, started wire wrapping and created and sold my first line of earrings to tourists visiting the area.
When I returned to Europe, I kept an interest in making jewellery and followed extra courses to learn how to handle, forge and bend precious metals to make unique pieces together with the precious stones I brought back from my journey.
Soon after I opened my first Etsy shop: Joly Jewels and sold my jewellery online, but also on markets and in shops.
In 2014 I decided to pause my activities, my son was born not long after and as we all know: priorities in life change, a short break became longer then intended...
But now I am back, with fresh ideas, excited to start again!
My wish to make timeless jewellery that makes you happy gave me the idea for the name Jolyfy, a combination of my last name and to jollify meaning “to make happy”.
My inspiration comes from walks in nature: I love the sea, the mountains and the forest. Sometimes I pick up materials to use in the backgrounds of pictures, like shells, sticks, leaves, flowers and feathers. The perfect imperfections fascinate and inspire me.
Together with my father, who was very much into geology, I went on long walks through the French Alps searching the ground for beautiful crystals. Later on, I discovered the energetic value of crystals, and I am very thankful for that.
Nowadays I am working as a shop manager of a second-hand store of Oxfam. With this store we support the many projects of Oxfam and jollify the world and make it a better place by re-using second-hand items.
For me this is a perfect match.
Enjoy
